Microsoft has just released a new update for the Windows 10 Outlook Mail and Calendar app in an attempt to fix some issues that have reportedly been caused by the latest insider version.

The company hasn’t provided too many details on this new update, but version 17.6965.40521.0 is believed to address bugs that previously caused the app to crash when launching. Reports of this problem have been mostly isolated, and although some users indeed confirmed the issues, other said that everything worked smoothly.

Since this is supposed to fix issues with an insider release, only users running Windows 10 preview builds are getting the update, so you won’t see it on a device powered by the stable version of the OS.

Both Outlook Mail and Calendar features have received significant improvements with Windows 10, and the same thing is expected to happen in the Anniversary Update due in July as well.

Only recently, Microsoft announced that the Sunrise calendar app that it purchased last year would be discontinued, with the team that previously worked on this project to be moved to Outlook. It’s expected that Microsoft’s own calendar app would get features previously available in Sunrise, so many exciting updates are likely to be released in the coming months.

In the meantime, insiders should not forget to download these new updates, mostly because they are said to fix critical bugs in the app.
