seems to be the final version of the Anniversary Update that will ship to retail users next week, as Microsoft has just released this particular build to all insiders, including those in the slow and the Release Preview rings.
Usually, this happens only when a certain build is stable and reliable enough to be used by those who don’t want to lose too much time hunting down bugs, so making Windows 10 build 14393.5 available for the Release Preview ring is pretty much the best sign that this is the final version.
Windows 10 build 14393.5 brings plenty of bug fixes and now that it’s available for the other rings in the Windows Insider program it could include others too, so it’s supposed to be the most stable, reliable, and fastest release so far.
Bug fixes and performance improvements
For example, this build comes with improvements for Microsoft Edge extensions, including AdBlock and LastPasss, with Microsoft saying that they should benefit from improved reliability and performance.
Additionally, there are battery enhancements, Store app improvements, Connected Standby patches for those who experienced issues with Windows updated being delayed, and some other fixes that should make this build work smoothly on all devices.
Windows 10 14393.5 is available on both PCs and mobile devices and can be installed with cumulative update KB3176927, which is shipped to insiders through the standard Windows Update.
The Anniversary Update rollout is projected to begin next week on August 2, so we’re only a few days away from the moment when everyone will get it. And yet, .5 is now 99 percent the version that’ll be released to retail users, so if nothing changes in the meantime, what you see in this build is exactly what everyone will be receiving next week.
Keep in mind that the Anniversary Update rollout will take place in stages, so not everyone will get it at the same time, as Microsoft has more than 350 million devices to upgrade and servers are very likely to be used at their maximum capacity once the “red” button is pressed.
