After unveiling the Galaxy J2 (2016) just a few weeks ago, it seems that Samsung has already announced an upgraded model in the series. It’s thus obvious that the company is on a roll, as besides releasing the Galaxy Tab J in Taiwan, it has also debuted the Galaxy J2 Pro in India, both in one single day.

The launch of Galaxy J2 Pro has been somewhat expected, considering that the Galaxy J2 (2016) came with some low specs that didn’t quite make the product attractive on the market. The Galaxy J2 (2016) was introduced in India, together with the Galaxy J Max.

The Galaxy J2 (2016) didn’t catch the market’s attention because of its underpowered specs. It only came with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which is hardly enough, considering the amount of memory that other devices offer.

Samsung’s Galaxy J2 Pro does come with upgraded specs, but not as powerful as the Pro moniker would have us believe. It has 2GB of RAM, more than on the Galaxy J2 (2016), but the screen size is identical, since we’re talking about a 5-inch Super AMOLED display.

Galaxy J2 Pro comes with Smart Glow and Turbo Speed Technology

The smartphone also comes with more internal memory, namely 16GB. It runs a 1.5GHz Spreadtrum SC8830 quad-core processor, coupled with Mali-400MP2 graphics processing unit. In addition, it comes with an 8MP rear-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP unit on the front, the same as on the model released a few weeks ago. The device runs Android Marshmallow 6.0 with the latest TouchWiz UX on top, which means that it comes with S Bike Mode and Ultra Data Saving Mode.

Samsung has also implemented the Turbo Speed Technology on the Galaxy J2 Pro, which is a RAM management utility that can load applications faster. It also features Samsung’s Smart Glow notification light on the back panel, which was introduced recently.

The smartphone is said to carry a price tag of $147 in India, according to India Today.
