After launching the Meizu M3 Note and the flagship Meizu Pro 6, the Chinese company is preparing for yet another major launch, the Meizu MX6. Rumors on the upcoming device have been surfacing for some time now, but the smartphone might in fact be inferior to the Meizu Pro 6.

Information on Meizu’s launch of the MX6 appeared on Chinese website Anzhuo. The post showed that the device could be unveiled in China on June 20, at a price of about $275.

Rumors on the specs suggest that the smartphone could be fueled by the Helio X20 64-bit deca-core SoC. The chipset is very powerful and it incorporates two Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 2.5GHz, four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2GHz, and four Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.4GHz.

Meizu MX6 could come in two variants, one with 3GB of RAM and the other with 4GB of RAM. The 3GB RAM model could have 32GB of internal storage, while the 4GB variant should ship with 64GB of storage.

Meizu MX6 will come with Android Marshmallow and Flyme OS on top

The device is expected to carry a full-metal case and have a powerful camera of 20.7MP in the back. The phone is also expected to come with Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 out of the box, with Meizu’s Flyme 6 OS on top. The Meizu M3 Note came with Flyme version 5.

Meizu’s flagship phone, the Pro 6 came with a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display, which was quite a surprising size considering that the previous model sported a much larger screen of 5.7 inches.

The Pro 6 came with MediaTek Helio X25 chipset that incorporated a 10-core processor and Mali-T880 graphics unit. It also came with a rather small battery of just 2,560 mAh and Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 with Flyme OS on top.

Prices reached $385 for the 32GB model or $430 for the 64GB model variant in China. The Meizu MX6 won’t be as powerful as the Meizu Pro 6, but it will provide decent specs for the price of just $275. However, that will be confirmed on June 20.
