Realtek has just made available a new version of its High Definition Audio driver, namely, which comes after almost a week since the previous Realtek HD Audio Driver release.

Just like the earlier audio package, the present release is compatible with Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 operating systems, both 32- and 64-bit variants. Moreover, the driver is also supported on both desktop and notebook configurations.

However, bear in mind that installing the driver on OSes other than the ones mentioned above isn’t recommended as this can lead to various malfunctions. Also, you will be required to remove the audio driver and reinstall the one you had before.

When it comes to changes, I assume this update could include small stability, performance, and sound quality improvements. Still, to find out when the changes really are, first save and unzip the downloadable archive to an accessible location on your computer (such as on the desktop).

Afterwards, locate the available setup file from within the newly created folder, close all programs and processes that might interfere with the upgrade, run the setup.exe file, and follow all instructions displayed on-screen.

That said, download Realtek HD Audio Driver, carefully install the new version, perform a restart upon completion, and check our website as often as possible to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
