It looks like NVIDIA is having some quality issues with the SHIELD Pro. The company says that it has found that less than 1 percent of all units sold have exhibited accelerated hard drive degradation, which causes issues with the user interface or just simple failure during an update.

If you update to the system software version 1.4 and it fails, you may have a bad unit. It also might cause heavy pixelation in the top row of the Android TV home screen. If you have these issues, head here to get your replacement. You won’t even need to ship yours out and wait for it to arrive to get your replacement shipped out, because NVIDIA will ship a replacement immediately to minimize down time.
