Microsoft has released a new update for Cortana on iOS, bringing some new features to those who want to use Redmond’s personal assistant on their iPhones.

Version 1.9.0 is now available for download from the App Store and comes with support for parking reminders, so Cortana can now help you easily recall where you parked.

All you have to do is launch Cortana after parking the car and ask her to remember the place. It’ll be then saved in your reminders, so whenever you want to reach the car quickly, you can simply ask Cortana to remind you where you parked the vehicle.

Additionally, this new feature also includes improved feedback input experience, but Microsoft hasn’t detailed how exactly it made sending feedback better for users of the Cortana app.

Cortana for iPhones

Cortana is an essential part of the Windows 10 operating system on both PC and mobile devices, but Microsoft wants to make it available to as many users as possible, so that’s why the personal assistant can now be installed on both Android and iOS.

Although still in its early days on non-Windows platforms, Cortana is improving to become a pretty advanced personal assistant, despite the fact that both Android and iOS come with their own similar technologies.

On iPhones, Cortana is competing against Siri, Apple’s very own digital assistant that offers similar features, so it’s quite an interesting duel that Microsoft has brought right on Cupertino’s playground.

Cortana for iOS requires iOS 8 or later and can be installed on a wide variety of Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The app is already pretty successful in the App Store, despite the fact that it competes directly against the built-in iOS Siri and is very likely to grow in popularity as Microsoft adds new features. At this time, it has more than 500 ratings in the store.
