Kyocera is said to be working on a new smartphone in the DuraForce series, the Kyocera DuraForce Pro, which might arrive to T-Mobile in the last quarter of 2016. Kyocera DuraForce series is known for providing rugged smartphones and an image of the upcoming device has just leaked online.
The image leaked over atshows that the smartphone will follow design guidelines in the series and come with a rugged case to protect it from scratches and potential drops. Kyocera DuraForce Pro might also come with a dual-camera setup on the back, as the leaked image would indicate.
The upcoming Kyocera DuraForce Pro might come with IP68 certification which provides the smartphone with protection from water, dust, drops, solar radiation, thermal shock, salt and humidity, so that it would function in extreme conditions and the phone’s components wouldn’t be affected. In fact,smartphone had a back cover with the capacity to self-heal from micor scratches.
Kyocera DuraForce Pro could come with a fingerprint scanner
The post also reveals that one of the rear-facing cameras on the smartphone was created for underwater photography, allowing for wide-angle images and videos to the taken. Moreover, the second camera module is said to come with 13MP capacity. In addition, the smartphone will have a front-facing camera with a resolution of 5MP.
Kyocera DuraForce Pro could draw power from a 3,420mAh battery. The smartphone appears to run an Android version that has an UI that’s very similar to stock Android, which means that the company didn’t make many changes to the phone’s user interface. The post mentions that the smartphone could come with a fingerprint sensor, but it isn’t visible in the image.
There’s no information on the smartphone’s price, but the previously launched smartphone in the series, the DuraForce XD came with a price of $449.99 off contract at T-Mobile. The new phone could have a similar price, but that also depends on its other specs.
