Not a day goes by without a new leaked image of the upcoming Galaxy Note 7 or some information that would indicate some of its specs. The latest regards a set of pictures that show a working Galaxy Note 7 with a flat screen. In addition, you can also take a look at a curved variant of the phone.

A batch of pictures have surfaced at Techtastic, revealing the Galaxy Note 7 prototype with a flat screen. The prototype seems to have a flat display, as well as a flat screen. This is quite peculiar, considering that the Galaxy S7 with a curved screen had a flat back and viceversa.

The images also reveal the USB Type-C port at the bottom of the smartphone, together with the iris sensor at the top. Both features are expected to be available on the curved variant of the Note 7. It seems that the flat screen Note 7 will remain at the stage of a prototype, as Samsung reportedly won’t be releasing this variant.

The Galaxy Note 7 with dual-edge display also leaked in an image today

Also today, an image of a dual-curved display Galaxy Note 7. The picture has surfaced over at Techdroider, and it shows off the Note 7 with a curved 5.7-inch display and the two openings at the top of the screen for the iris scanner. The Samsung branding at the top is covered with a sticker, and the smartphone seems to be running the Always on display feature.

Considering that Corning has just recently released the new Corning Gorilla Glass 5 coating, some say that this glass cover could be featured on the Galaxy Note 7. It wouldn’t be surprising, and it would be one of the first flagships to come with such resistant glass coating.

Samsung has recently announced that it will release the Galaxy Note 7 on August 2, during an event to be held in New York and broadcast on its website. Pre-orders are expected to go live right after the unveiling event, but that remains to be seen.
