The first gen Moto X hasn’t gotten all that much love recently, but Verizon and Motorola are now updating the Verizon Moto X 2013 to the latest version of Android. This update will bring you to Android 5.1 and features the Stagefright patch, which will keep you safe from malware.

Android 5.1 features a lot of great enhancements over 5.0, like interruption controls, notification volume control, user interface changes, and a bunch of fixes. It’s definitely a good update, so if you’re the owner of this device, go ahead and check for updates! And remember, Motorola cares. This old device is getting Android 5.1 while many models of the Note 4 remains on 5.0.
