Convergent Design has announced the availability of a new firmware package compatible with its Odyssey and Apollo recorders, namely version 2016.06.1431, which fixes HDMI signal detection, Timecode issues, and more.

This new release also improves device boot-up time, SDI/HDMI Record Trigger from Panasonic DVX200 and Sony FS5/F5/F55 cameras, playback (without an input connected), as well as power draw efficiency.

In addition to that, the June 2016 update adds 8-Channel audio support, improves legibility of Focus Assist, implements SDI Record Trigger Pass Through, allows limiting range of playback, and receives several Dual-4K and Quad-HD capabilities.

Moreover, the producer has implemented numerous other changes for its Odyssey7, Odyssey7Q, Odyssey7Q+, Apollo, and Apollo Option models, which you can view by pressing the Release Notes button below.

When it comes to installation, first format an SSD using the recorder, save and unzip the downloadable firmware, locate and transfer the “}Odyssey_Update{“ folder to the SSD’s root directory, and insert it into your Odyssey/Apollo unit.

Afterward, simply power on the device, connect the AC power adapter, and the process will be initiated automatically after 30 seconds. Bear in mind that interrupting the upgrade in any way can cause serious malfunctions.

Once the upgrade has finished (the progress bar reaches 100%), remove the SSD, restart the device, and format the solid state drive once more. Also, it is recommended that you do a factory reset as well.

That said, download Convergent Design Apollo Firmware 2016.06.1431 or download Convergent Design Odyssey Firmware 2016.06.1431, carefully apply it, and enjoy all these new changes.
